Which wooden rocking chair fits the way you sit?

  • Freedom of movement: Aunt Annie’s armless rocker leaves room beside your body for activities such as playing guitar. Check its compact seat dimensions against a chair you already find comfortable.
  • A smaller traditional rocker: Cottage is 24 3/4 inches wide overall. Its seat is 21 inches wide at the widest point and 16 inches deep.
  • Classic proportions: compare the Classic and Classic Lumbar for different back shapes. Both have a 23 inch maximum seat width.
  • More room: Plantation Lumbar and Plantation Cane have seats measuring 24 inches at the widest point. Compare inside arm room as well as seat width.
  • Woven cane: compare Classic Cane, Plantation Cane and the Official Kennedy Rocker for differences in size, style and assembly.
  • Fully assembled: Carolina and the Official Kennedy Rocker arrive with no assembly required. Other adult models require runner attachment, with videos on their product pages.

Measure for your body and your room

Compare seat height at rest, seat depth, the narrowest usable seat width and inside arm room. Maximum seat width is not the same as the space between the arms. Allow additional clear space for the full rocking motion; the listed front to back dimension is not a rocking clearance requirement.

The Kennedy Rocker is recommended for indoor use. Before choosing another model for a porch, ask us to confirm the model, finish and seat material for your specific exposure. A finish color alone does not establish outdoor suitability.

Handmade to order by Troutman in North Carolina. Allow up to approximately 12 weeks to ship, plus transit time. After we submit your configuration to the factory, Steve and Bob will share the estimated production or shipping window as soon as it is available.
